Well our Jnr Gym Kids finished their Body Awareness theme and have been busy beginning to work out where their body is in space, this week we blasted off with our outer space ROCKET Theme!
Our under 5’s explored a wide range of movement activities, with a focus on the rocket shape (which is a tall straight body with arms straight up by ears & legs together)!
Our rocket shape uses lots of core strength which we know is so important for not only controlling our body, but also in assisting with overall development – improving posture, assisting children to pay attention and helping our kids in their day to day life; be it at kindy, school, in the playground or during structured activities!
During our rocket theme, children worked on coordinating their arms and legs in jumps and played purposefully with force and power! Our little astronauts learned to drive their legs and push their arms with lots of three, two, one – BLAST OFF fun!
Blast OFF!
Blasting off needs powerful leg drive and coordinated arms to whoosh us into space after all!
Because the rocket shape forms the base for so many of our gymnastics skills, we will be exploring this shape in all of it’s forms! We will be stretched tall and tight in balance and pushed strong into our handstands and jumps!
We hope you have a blast with our Rocket Week at Jnr Gym Kids!
