  • Christmas Fun in Junior GymKids

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas… and we’re having lots of festive fun in the gym!

Our Jnr Gym Kids are finishing off the year with their Christmas Theme and will focus on three Christmas shapes during their gymnastics circuits – the straight Christmas Tree shape (rocket), the wide Christmas Star shape and the Christmas Bauble (tuck shape).

The Carols are playing and the decorations are out as our under 5’s ride their scooter board sleighs, tip toe like clever little elves, reindeer hop, post letters to Santa and step over Christmas presents. It’s amazing to see how much these little ones have grown through movement this year and we’ll be challenging them right to the end with purposeful play as they hang, roll, balance and cartwheel into Christmas.

We’re so excited for our Groovers who are heading off to school next year. We know these kids will smash it and are so well prepared. All the play we’ve been doing in the gym has helped build their core & upper body strength, ready to sit and learn at big school. Through movement and gymnastics, our Groovers are prepared to take healthy risks in approaching new learning; their confidence and ability to focus has built and has given them such a great kick start. (See below to help encourage them to keep going !)
From tinsel limbo and silver bells on beam, to posting letters to Santa to hanging like Christmas stars and decorating the bars with baubles (tuck hang) we’re definitely getting into the Christmas spirit.

Festive fun in the gym…
