  • Delta Brisbane Aspire Gymnasts Celebrate 2016!
The Delta Brisbane Annual Celebration, affectionately known as the ‘Delta Dinner is’ a long standing favourite for our Delta Aspire gymnasts, families and coaches.  And this year’s dinner did not disappoint – what an amazing night celebrating the achievements, success stories and incredible results of our Brisbane Aspire gymnasts! On Saturday night, over 330 Delta Brisbane members hit Kedron Wavell for our Aspire night of nights!  With gymnasts represented from our Level 1-3 Aspire Foundation members, through to our Aspire Competitive seniors and international girls, it was wonderful to see everyone dress up, mingle and celebrate 2016! Megan set the scene for the night focusing on the journey and the process that all Delta Gymnasts undertake.  Level 10 gymnasts Christine Cross spoke to the crowd about her challenges and achievements in 2016 and we were treated to an inspiring video put together by Wendy about "The Process" in which we heard that 'to become something we have to overcome something'!  Emi Watterson told the crowd about her competition experiences in Prague and Marseille this year competing for Australia and her hopes and dreams for major competitions over the next two years.  Kristy Bishop and Taylor Ryan spoke about their own personal experiences "on tour" with Delta and encouraged every child to do the hard work to get to go on tour. As is the tradition at Delta we fare welled  retiring level 10's.  This year we had only one level 10 retiring and Larissa Lum spoke about her personal journey and 'the process' she undertook to become a Queensland Level 10 and State Team Captain this year. All in all it was an incredible night with the videos of training fun, Delta team tours, presentation of awards and sitting down with the Delta family to our end of year dinner. Congratulations to all award winners on the night!  Special mention to our amazing 2016 Gymnasts of the Year – Maya Sudrikku (Aspire Performance) and Madison Young (Aspire Competitive).  Fantastic job girls!
