  • Delta Gymnastics Athlete Profile – India Colombi

The Delta Aspire Performance Program caters for high level National and International gymnastics. Gymnasts selected into this level of the program aspire to represent their state and country at Level 10 and International competition. As part of this program girls compete in the ALP Level 7 – 10 divisions along with Future, Junior and Senior International Competition. With a focus on mastering high level skills, exceptional strength and conditioning and an emphasis on goal setting and teamwork, gymnasts are equipped with the skills to be the best they can be - in the gym, at school and in their future endeavours!

At Delta we believe that it is not only what we do – but the way we do it. Our Core Values are what guide our decision making and unite our entire team. Click Here to read more about our Core Values.

We are so proud of the incredible leaders we have at all levels, who foster these values and demonstrate them in and outside of the gym. We thought we would share a little more about our highest level athletes for you to get to know and so you continue following their journey.

DOB: 30/11/06 How many hours do you train? 30 hours per week Birthplace: Made in Italy Current Level: Junior International What School do you go to? Wavell State High School Favourite apparatus? Beam Favourite skill? Roundoff flick Beam-mount & Yurchenko twisting. What is your next skill goal you're aiming to achieve? Vault - Yurchenko double twist & Beam- Flick, layout, layout mount connection. What's the craziest skill you'd like to try? Oooh can’t choose between an Atlas on Bars and Yurchenko 2 & 1/2 twist on Vault. Favourite gymnastics memory? Being SO excited when I placed third at the Australian Classic in Level 9 Under 12. Who is your hero & why? My family are my heroes for always encouraging me and supporting my decisions. Best gymnastics achievement so far? A big achievement for me was moving 2,000km to Delta to continue my gymnastics career. What do you love most about being part of #teamdelta? I love the supportive environment and how I felt so welcomed so quickly by my awesome teammates, coaches and everyone! Favourite movie? A Second Chance Rivals of course! Favourite food? I’d never say no to a bowl of Pho or mums Spag-Bolg What do you want to be when you finish school? Haven’t really decided on this one, but an interpreter for something like United Nations sound pretty cool... Hobbies outside of gymnastics? Don’t have a lot of free time, but when I do, I like cooking, dancing and hanging out at the beach! Which Disney character best describes you and why? I think I’m like Mowgli from lThe Jungle Book. He’s from India...always flying, swinging & flipping his way through the Jungle. Best piece of advice you'd give to younger athletes? Always follow your dreams and make sure you have people around you who support and encourage you. When something may bring you down, don’t let it take over you. When you’re faced with what seems like only negatives, look harder to find the silver lining and don’t let go of the passion you have for doing the thing you love. Did you know? Indi is not only an awesome gymnast but a pretty great actress too! In 2019, India played a lead role in the hit Gymnastics movie; A Second Chance Rivals!
