  • That’s a wrap | National Clubs Carnival 2022!

What a whirlwind month of gymnastics competitions we have had! The 2022 National Clubs Carnival is over for another year…. and Delta Gymnastics are excited to announce we placed 2nd Overall Club in Australia. Our Delta teams headed to the Gold Coast, ready to challenge the best in Australia in an amazing 12 day long event of fantastic gymnastics.

As the 2022 National Clubs was in action, we were lucky to get up to date information, results and photos of our teams.

Check out our National Clubs Carnival run down below!

Our Level 5 Team kicked off the 2022 National Clubs Carnival in style! Our youngest gymnasts took to the competition floor with confidence and had a great day one, qualifying for the finals round of Day 2 of the event! From here, the girls didn’t look back! The fierce fives competed beautifully in Finals and claimed the Silver medal for our Blue team and 4th place for our Gold team!  Not only that, the Blue Team also picked up Gold Medal on Vault, Silver on Bars and Beam and the Bronze on Floor! Whilst the Gold team claimed 5th on Bars, 4th on Beam and Silver on Floor. Wow, wow, WOW! Congratulations girls, what a fantastic finish to an incredible season!  We’re so proud of you and the Delta spirit you showed at your first National Clubs Carnival!

Next up were our Sensational Sixes who took to the floor. Backed by their amazing cheer squad of  Delta Mums and team mates in the stands, the level 6 girls had a fantastic first round of competition. With some booming vaults and swinging bars, Team Delta were ready to rock finals!

And what a finals round the girls had! The Blue Team took home the Silver Overall whilst the Gold team claimed the Bronze Overall! The Blue Team also took home the Silver on Vault and Bars and were the National Club Champions on Beam and Floor! The Gold Team were hot on their heels claiming the Bronze on Vault, Bars and Beam and 5th on Floor. What an incredible competition and display of depth from Team Delta! We are so proud of the girls and can’t wait to watch on as they move into the senior levels in the coming years. Great job team!

Our Sassy Sevens continued Delta’s dominate performance with a great first round of competition. The Level 7’s sucessfully qualified for round two finals and were ready to rock!

Against an impressive field of gymnasts from around Australia, our Level 7’s headed into finals feeling cool, calm and collected! They shone bright on the competition floor and all of their hard work definitely paid off.  Congratulations girls on being named NATIONAL CLUB CHAMPIONS! Winning the Gold All Around and on Vault and Floor, the girls also brought home Bronze on Bars and the Silver on Beam! What a result – great job Team Delta!

Our amazing Seniors also performed at this event, with our Level 8, Level 9 and Level 10 teams competing on the final days of competition. Day one saw both teams perform beautifully.  Their experience and composure saw the girls have a great first round, qualifying into the Finals.

Cheered on by the Delta Army in the crowds, our elegant eights had a fantastic competition with each of these athletes stepping up from Level 7 for this event!  Congratulations girls on your wonderful performances across the two days!  We know this experience will set you in good stead for the years ahead.

Our Level 9 team, again made up of Level 8’s taking the step up into Level 9 for this event after some unfortunate injuries saw of our Level 9’s unable to compete at this event. They didn’t let this stop them though and took to finals ready for a tough round of competition!  We’re so proud of each and every gymnast who showed poise, dedication and the Delta spirit on the competition floor. The girls had a great round two of competition – well done team. What fantastic role models these girls are for our future gymnasts!

Our Terrific Trio of 10’s knew they had a tough task ahead of them with only 3 in their team and 3 scores to count towards their overall rankings. The girls were up for the challenge, looked it in the eye and gave it a wink. The team performed like the seasoned professionals they are and took out 4th All-Around in Australia! They also picked up Bronze on Vault, Silver on Bars, 5th on Beam and 4th on Floor. Congratulations on a fantastic two-round competition girls, we’re so proud to have you leading our team!

Special mentions also to these Individual results:

Zoe, National Club Champion on Vault (a dead stuck Handspring Pike Frontsault will do the trick!), Ava Bronze Medal Bars and Madison for her ‘unique tumbling’ award.

Finishing their year with a bang, the Delta Gymnastics International Team rounded out our 2022 National Clubs Carnival experience. For the first time, International athletes were added to the Team awards in a combined division of Future, Junior and Senior International. Our Team consisted of Olympian and Commonwealth Games Gold Medallist, Georgia Godwin as well as Junior International All-Around Champion Ruby Pass. There was some exceptional gymnastics taking place across these divisions are we are so excited for the future of gymnastics in Australia. Congratulations to our International Team who were crowned NATIONAL CLUB CHAMPIONS ALL-AROUND! As this is a combined division there are no apparatus team placings however, individual results are as follows:

Junior International – Ruby Pass Individual All-Around Champion with a clean sweep claiming the Gold on Vault, Bars, Beam and Floor!

Senior International – Georgia Godwin Silver medal Bars and Gold medal Beam, India Colombi 6th place Bars, Alice Zhu 6th place Beam and 5th place Floor, Isabella McDonnell-Baum 6th place Floor
