  • Delta Team Challenge 2026: A Weekend of Gymnastics, Teamwork, and Triumph

This past weekend, over 200 gymnasts from Brisbane and the Gold Coast came together at Delta Clayfield for the 2026 Delta Team Challenge – and what a weekend it was! Full of excitement, friendly rivalry, and inspiring performances, this event is the perfect warm-up for the upcoming QLD Club Championships in Caloundra.

From Level 4 through International, gymnasts put their skills on display while cheering on their teammates. There were smiles, nerves, high-fives, and even a few tears of joy – moments that remind us why gymnastics is as much about teamwork and courage as it is about flips and routines.

Levels 4–6: Clubs Battle for Club Champion

This year, the Challenge introduced a new head-to-head format for Levels 4–6, adding an extra layer of excitement:

  • Day 1: Gaythorne faced North Lakes, with Team Gaythorne coming out on top.
  • Day 2: Kedron battled Clayfield, while Gold Coast went head-to-head with Performance. In a nail-biting finale, Kedron edged Clayfield in Level 6 to secure the overall club title. Team Gold Coast also put in an incredible effort, winning their Level 6 round but just missing the overall trophy.

It was more than a competition – it was a showcase of teamwork, resilience, and determination, with every gymnast contributing to their team’s success.

Level 7: Rising Stars Shine

Level 7 saw teams from Performance, Burleigh, Kedron/Sunshine Coast, and Western Districts take to the floor. The girls impressed with their precision and flair, culminating in Performance claiming the top spot, followed by Burleigh, Kedron/Sunshine Coast, and Western Districts. For many, it was a breakthrough moment, showing how dedication pays off when preparation meets performance.

Premier Session: Levels 8–10 & International

The weekend concluded with a premier session for our senior gymnasts, preparing for the 2026 Senior State Titles and State Team Trial. The performances were electric, with impressive vaults, beams, and floor routines lighting up the arena.

  • Gold: Blue Team
  • Silver: Yellow Team (after a tie-break based on highest Team Vault score)
  • Bronze: White Team
  • 4th place: Combined Western Districts/Sunshine Coast

Beyond the scores, there were moments that will stay in everyone’s memory: teammates cheering the loudest for each other, coaches offering last-minute encouragement, and proud parents capturing every leap and landing.

Thank You

A huge congratulations to all gymnasts – your hard work, courage, and smiles made the Delta Team Challenge 2026 a weekend to remember. And to our Coaches, Judges, Officials, Volunteers, and parents: thank you for your time, energy, and support in making this event such a success.

It wasn’t just about medals or scores – it was about passion, teamwork, and celebrating what gymnastics truly stands for. Here’s to another season of growth, dedication, and unforgettable moments on the floor!
