  • Go Emi! Start Here, Go Anywhere!

Have you heard of Emi Watterson yet?  If not, it’s sure to be a name you hear more of!  Emi Watterson started gymnastics with Delta as a tiny 4 year old.  She quickly moved through the ranks and soon became part of Queensland’s International program.  Here she represented Delta, while training at the High Performance Centre in Brisbane. When Delta Kedron opened it’s doors in 2016 Emi came home to Delta to train with her super coaches Sasha & Olga (and alongside our amazing Georgia Godwin) in the Snr International team (& what a team)!

In 2016 Emi represented Australia at the Elite Gym Massilia in Marseille, France where she competed beautifully alongside her training partner, Georgia Godwin.

This year, after completing Grade 12 in 2017, she has headed off on an opportunity of a lifetime! Emi was accepted into Berkeley (University of California) where she is studying and competing as a member of the Cal Bears Women’s Gymnastics Team!

This incredible opportunity has seen Emi travel the US for College Meets and experience the incredible atmosphere of College Gymnastics.  She has been extremely successful in her first season with the Bears, in particular on bars where she has had exceptional results!

Check out Emi’s amazing PAC 12 Championships bars performance below (and note the commentator state A STAR IS BORN!).  She scored an incredible 9.875 for this routine! Go Emi!

In her first season, Emi has been named Bear of The Week, has anchored her team on bars (& scored highest in the team on this apparatus), competed at Conference Championships, Regionals & Nationals and next to some of her gymnastics idols!  Not bad for a 17-year old straight out of high school.

She is true testament of chasing your dreams and we can’t wait to continue to watch her college experience next season. We are so proud of Emi and her achievements!

Emi is also looking at returning to Australia, with hopes of qualifying alongside Georgia for the 2020 Olympic Games.  Go Emi!
