Check out our awesome Delta Ascot Tuesday & Wednesday Gym Kids Intermediate classes doing their Pullovers on bars!
Did you know bars requires the most overall strength of the four gymnastics apparatus? (Vault; Bars; Beam; Floor). Not only does bars require upper body strength (like a chin up position); it also requires a strong middle body (core) to help lift legs up and over.
Pullovers are great for developing children's
vestibular system as not only are gymnasts going upside down, but they are doing one full rotation, before finishing in a strong front support position on top of the bar.
Even though these Pullovers might look easy, they certainly are not! However, with the combined upper and middle body strength, along with some grit and determination they become easier and easier until one day its just second nature!
Once the children can comfortably complete their pullover we will start perfecting this skill, by controlling the children's body form. Gymnasts will work hard on keeping their legs together and straight and keeping their body tight!
What a great skill of the week and great job girls on your Pullover progression!
