  • Southport Challenge National Clubs Carnival on Home Turf
The 2018 National Clubs Carnival is done for another year and we're excited to report our Southport Gymnastics Clubs teams have placed an amazing 7th Club in Australia!  Held on home turf, right here on the Gold Coast, over 3000 gymnasts from across Australia headed to the the Gold Coast Sports and Leisure Centre to challenge for the 2018 National Club Champion Title.  Our Southport girls and coaches were AMAZING - we are so proud of all of their efforts! Go Team Southport! The final week of the National Clubs Carnival saw Artistic Gymnastics take centre stage and our Southport Teams were feeling well prepared and ready to perform! Below are our daily updates with all of the action from National Clubs! Our Southport Level 5's started our National Clubs Campaign with a great day one performance.  The girls performed beautifully and qualified through to the Finals round.  We're so proud of the girls and after a smashing finals competition on day 2, we're excited to announce our Level 5 Team placed 15th in Australia!  What a great way to kick off events for our youngest athletes! Great job girls!

Day three saw our Sensational Sixes ready to perform.  With team mates and Southport families cheering on from the crowd, the girls had an awesome Day 1 competition, qualifying into the Finals round.  Backing up the very next day, our amazing gymnasts had a fantastic finals competition.  We are so excited to announce the girls placed 6th in Australia in the all around event!  Woohoo!  With booming vaults, the girls were also awarded the bronze medal on this apparatus!  We're so proud of you girls!

Next up were our awesome Level 7's! With two days of competition ahead of them, the girls headed to day one looking cool, calm and collected.  Fantastic performances across the board, saw the teams ready to rock Finals Day! Level 7 Finals were fierce, with some incredible gymnastics on display.  Our Southport girls brought their A-Game and we are so excited to celebrate their 3rd place All Around in Australia result! The girls also went on to pick up a bronze medal on vault and silver on beam! Woohoo!  Congratulations Level 7's!

  Our level 8's brought the 2018 National Clubs Carnival to a close for our amazing Southport Teams.  The girls put in two strong days of performances and looked incredible out there on the competition floor. After our final performances for this year's event, our amazing eights finished up 10th in Australia. What an awesome effort - we're so proud of these girls!
