Day 7 Competition: 27th May 2018 - FINAL DAY OF ARTISTIC EVENT
We have another National Champion! Congratulations Georgia Godwin on an awesome Individual All Around performance! Georgia won GOLD in the Snr International All Around and also picked up the gold medals on Bars, Beam and Floor.  Adding to this, Georgia placed second on Vault!  What an incredible year for Georgia, backing up her Commonwealth Games success with the National Champion Title!  Congratulations to her awesome coaches, Sasha and Olga, what a great way to finish our Nationals campaign! #teamgeorgia
Day 6 Competition: 26th May 2018
Our Barron Valley level 9 boys, Sam Stead and Haney Martens headed out for their Individual All Around event on Day 6! Haney and Sam finished finals with great strength and determination.  Congratulations Sam on your 7th place finish on Vault!  Awesome effort!  Haney represented himself and his club beautifully and as per usual demonstrated great support and sportsmanship! Well done boys and thank you to Coach Sergei for your efforts!
Day 5 Competition: 25th May 2018
Today's competition saw Australia's Senior International gymnasts take on their first round of competition at the Australian National Championships! Delta's Georgia Godwin had a fantastic start to the event, hitting four from four routines.  Loved seeing some new skills since the Commonwealth Games, added to Georgia's routines and we can't wait to see what Georgia brings to finals on Sunday! #teamgeorgia #youbeyou
 Day 4 Competition: 24th May 2018
Introducing our newest National Champion to you - Madison Thompson! Qld Team Captain, Maddy lead our amazing level 10's out on the floor for their Individual All Around Finals. Hitting 8 from 8 routines over the two days of competition, Maddy brought home GOLD in the all around event and also picked up Bronze on Bars, Gold on Beam and Silver on floor.  On top of this, Maddy was awarded the 2017 Gymnast of the Year!  Maddy you are an inspiration! As are all of our amazing level 10 gymnasts! All of the girls performed exceptionally in finals! Shout out to Madison Young on her bronze medal on Vault!  Great job Maddy! We also had two level 10 gymnasts place in the top 10 in Australia - fantastic effort Nadege Mindel from Barron Valley Gymnastics on your 7th All Around placing in the L10 16& Under Division and Samantha Watkin on placing 9th in Australia in this division! Awesome girls! Special mention to Holly Dunn who is retiring from gymnastics after the Australian Championships. Holly, we hope you've enjoyed your journey and wish you all the best for what is to come! And of course to the girls coaches - Wendy, Josh and John in Brisbane and Di and Sergei in BV - congratulations and thank you for all your hard work.  What a fantastic Australian Championships! GO LEVEL 10'S!!!!
Day 3 Competition: 23rd May 2018
Our amazing Level 9's took to the floor today for their Individual All Around Performances.  Coming off the back of their Gold Medal winning Team Event, the nines were ready to rock!  And indeed they did! Congratulations to Natasha Ho who picked up the BRONZE medal in the Level 9 Under 15 division!  Great job Tash, we're so proud of you!  Jaymee Dillon won GOLD on bars in this division, placing 5th in Australia!  Go Jaymee! Kyanalee Coleman also performed beautifully, placing 6th All Around in the Level 9 16 and Over division.  Amazing effort! Congratulations girls, we're so proud of you all!  Great job to the girls super coaches, Wendy and Josh!
Day 2 Competition: 22nd May 2018
STOP THE PRESSES.... After our Level 7's winning the Gold Medal in the team event they have backed it up with a stunning result in the Individual All Around Final. Maya Sudrikku is the new Level 7 Open National Champion with Ruby Ingle winning the Silver Medal Overall.  Congratulations girls, what an incredible result! Isabella Wilson took out the Silver Medal in the Level 7 Under 13 division and Southport's Ava Tyler came in at 8th Overall in Australia!  Girls, you're amazing!
Adding to this, Maya won Gold on Beam, Silver on Floor and Bronze on Bars. Ruby took home the Gold medal on Floor and picked up Silvers on both Beam and Vault.  Bella also won the Silver medal on Bars!  A big shout out to Coach Lauren Norton on her amazing efforts - what a great result in her first year taking level 7's to Nationals!  And special mention to Ava's amazing coaches Kim and Sasha - you must be so proud!
  Our Level 8's went into Day 2 feeling confident after winning Team Gold the day before! We are so proud of the girls for their beautiful performances in the Individual All Around event! Huge congratulations to Ava Kinnane who placed 2nd All Around in the Level 8 Under 14 division! Great job Ava!  Ava also picked up the Gold Medal on Vault and the Silver on Floor.  QLD Teammate and Southport gymnast, Jessica Cleverly came an amazing 5th All Around and picked up the Bronze on Beam in this division.  Delta's Sophie Graham had a great final, performing beautifully and placing 20th in the country! Girls, we are so proud of you all! Special shout out to the girls coaches - Wendy, Josh, Sasha & Olga you're awesome!  
Day One Competition: 21st May 2018
Day one saw our littlest gymnasts in level 7, kick start the Australian Gymnastics Championships in Melbourne.  With a great result for Queensland, the girls came away with the GOLD Medal in the Level 7 Team Event!  So proud of all the gymnasts and shout out to Isabella, Maya, Ruby and Ava (and Coach Lauren) on an amazing result! Our Level 8's also had an awesome start to competition - winning GOLD for Queensland in the team event!  GO QLD!  Great job Ava and Sophie and of course, awesome team coach Wendy!  Click to see the level 8 standings heading into the individual round Next it was the NINES turn!  And what a fantastic performance the girls had, also bring home GOLD for Queensland!  The Queensland level 9 girls won all four apparatus in the team event! Greta job girls.  Stay tuned for the level 9 standings heading into the all around event. This year we have 12 girls from Delta Brisbane competing in the Level 10 Division at the Australian Gymnastics Championships!  Three Delta Brisbane girls, including Captain Maddy Thompson, are part of the Queensland Team and we have 9 amazing individuals performing as well. Our 9 individuals were next to take to the floor, to do Queensland and their clubs proud, before the QLD Level 10 Team fought hard for an amazing Silver Medal in the team event.  Check out the Level 10 Standings here, heading into the individual all around. Topping off a fantastic first day of competition for Queensland and the Delta girls, our very own Georgia Godwin played an official role in the Opening of the Australian Gymnastics Championships, being selected as Flag Bearer for the ceremony.  Well done Georgia, well deserved!
State Team Training Camp @ Delta Kedron: 16th - 19th May 2018
The State Team trained at Delta Kedron in the lead up to their Nationals Campaign! Congratulations to Delta's Georgia Godwin (Snr International) and Maddy Thompson (Level 10) who will captain the QLD Team, alongside Gold Coast Gymnastics Level 10 Gymnast, Rachel Graham.
