Saturday night, a record 356 Delta Aspire members, their families, coaches and staff attended our annual awards night, the Delta Dinner! A favourite for our Aspire gymnasts, this year's dinner did not disappoint, as we not only reflected on the year that was 2017 - but also on the last 25 years!  In 2017 Delta Gymnastics reached their milestone 25th anniversary! Throughout the night, we remembered the early days of Delta (when Megan still looked the same and John....), welcomed 4 new amazing members to the Delta Hall of Fame, celebrated the future of Delta with our tiny Aspire Foundations gymnasts hitting the stage; reflected on an amazing year for our Aspire Performance and Competitive girls who are an inspiration to us all; and recognised our incredible award winners. We listened to a run down of a very busy year of gymnastics; watched inspirational videos; laughed at the stacks video (we will get back up again!) and received a special message from Georgia Godwin, who couldn't be there on the night due to being in Japan to compete at the Toyota Invitational Event on the weekend.  John's Q&A session with this year's retiring gymnasts was a highlight with Christine talking about the importance to dream big and believe in yourself! Thea told us gymnastics taught her about the importance of friendship (& the lifelong friends she has made through gymnastics) and about stretching your comfort zone. Thea discussed how the coaches had helped her to continue to be challenged, whilst feeling comfortable within herself. The evening ended in true Delta style, with lots of dancing, laughs and happy faces celebrating a wonderful year! As always, a big thank you to our incredible Delta families - for all you do for your girls in this sport.  Special thanks to our amazing Aspire coaches (and all of our Delta coaches and administrative staff) for making 2017 such a success and for your ongoing enthusiasm and support!
