  • Five Favourites: School Holiday Activities for Kids!
After a busy term 3 adapting to some changes, we are all looking forward to the School Holidays, warmer weather and some family time! Need some fun ideas for school holiday activities for kids? Each year in Australia, studies show an increase in childhood obesity. If kids learn to be active early & enjoy movement and exercise whilst they are young, it will stay with them throughout adulthood as well! With this in mind, and the kids’ home for a couple of weeks, check out our Top 5 Holiday Activity Ideas, ensuring your children are active and keep moving this school break!

Top 5 Holiday Activity Ideas

(1) Scoot into Spring Why not head to the local bike path for a scooter session with the kids. So great for their co-ordination, balance, fitness and lots of outdoor fun. (2) Water Fun Make the most of this warmer weather! Set up the slip n slide, fill up the water balloons, slip, slop, slap and have some fun! (3) Gymnastics Classes! It’s holiday time but #thefuncontinues at Delta Gymnastics! We will be keeping kids challenged, happy and moving at our classes throughout the break and look forward to seeing you little gymnast there. As well as taking on the challenge that is gymnastics, children will be busy learning different gymnastics activities and socialising with their friends in the gym.   (4) Gardening Head outside and create the kids own vege/herb/flower garden. Use muscles while digging, planting and watering and watch them grow! (5) Make Your Own The kids will no doubt have lots of plans for the holidays, with visits to the movies, parks & play dates. So why not make your own fun at home as well?  Frisbee throw and catch is great for hand eye co-ordination. Back yard tiggy, really gets the body moving! Grab some chalk on the driveway for your own game of hop scotch, practising left and right hops & two feet jumps.  And nothing beats a good old dance off with musical statues! Family fun and great bonding with your kids as well! With all of this moving, remember to lock in some down time. Have you seen some of our Delta gymnasts in the gymnastics movie, A Second Chance: RivalsGrab the popcorn for a Gymnastics Movie Night!
