The colder weather is bringing a Winter Wonderland to Jnr Gym Kids with our timely winter theme! Our winter theme will see our little ones focusing on holding their snow ball tuck shape all over the gym as we explore & build on a wide range of movement.

To be able to hold our body in a tight small tuck, whether hanging, in rotation or when jumping, uses arms, legs and core muscles.

At Jnr Gym Kids we call our tuck shape our tap tap tuck to reinforce holding one hand on each shin without crossing arms over.  This encourages core, thigh and arm muscles to work to hold the shape, rather than locking arms to hold us in the right shape.

With some familiar Frozen faces featuring in this theme, we will be rolling like snowballs and holding & balancing in our tuck shape.

We will be throwing snowballs at our snowmen, working on throwing dynamically with a step to lunge before releasing the snowball.

We will feed Olaf some carrots and practice our penguin feet and snowflake walking. We will also have fun running away from our snowballs – how fast can we go!?

Look out for our Jnr GymKids coaches and their Elsa powers as they freeze our under 5’s during warm up!

On the beam our Jnr GymKids will be further perfecting their balance with our Elsa Icicle freeze.  Good balance comes from playing with shifting our centre of gravity (the heavy hips and head) over our base of support, which may be one foot, two feet or even a hand or two as well.

So many chilly fun activities in our latest Jnr Gym Kids theme! We look forward to sharing our Winter theme with you all!
