  • Aussie Aussie Aussie…. Delta’s Australian gymnasts!
Aussie Aussie Aussie.... This Australia Day, let's give a huge shout out to our amazing gymnasts who represented their country in 2018!
Georgia Godwin
Who can forget the 2018 Commonwealth Games and Georgia's incredible performance taking the silver All Around medal! Since a little girl growing up on the Gold Coast, Georgia dreamed of representing her country at the Commonwealth Games and Olympics and pulling on the green and gold in her home town was a dream come true!  Proving her true grit and determination, after a wobble in the team event, Georgia came back strong to take home the silver medal in the individual all around event.  Backed by her coaches, team mates, family and huge fan base, Georgia finished the Games with 3 medals, also picking up Team Bronze and Bronze on Bars! Georgia then backed up this incredible achievement, also winning the Australian Championships in 2018! #TEAMGEORGIA is in full swing and we can't wait to watch Georgia chase down her next goal, 2020 Olympics! Go Georgia, you're amazing!! Read our interview with Georgia here.
Maddy Thompson
Maddy Thompson started gymnastics as a little 3 year old and it quickly became apparent she was something special. Working through the Delta programs, Maddy has been a leader in the gym and a fantastic role model to the up and coming gymnasts. In 2018, after taking out back to back Level 10 National Titles, Maddy experienced wearing the green and gold, as she represented her country at the New Zealand National Gymnastics Championships. In an incredible finish to her gymnastics career, Maddy and her team mates won Gold in the team event, before Maddy went on to take home Silver in the All around and win GOLD on bars! Amazing Mads, you're incredible! Maddy features regularly on the Delta blog - check out some of her news articles here.
Emi Watterson
Delta's Emi Watterson is living and studying in the U.S and currently in her second season as a Cal Bear, as a member of UC Berkeley's gymnastics team! Emi started at Delta as a 4 year old & competed at an international level, before heading off to college gymnastics in the US. Flying the flag for Australia, Emi is a true example of starting here and going anywhere - Emi, you are amazing! Read more about Emi & check out her college bars routine here. What an inspirational bunch! Happy Australia Day everyone!
