  • Focusing on Skills at Barron Valley
Skills time... pretty much sums up our focus in the gym over the past couple of months for our Barron Valley MAG & WAG Aspire gymnasts!  This time of the year is so much fun with lots of excited gymnasts achieving new skills for their routines and the year ahead! It can also be a difficult time as it can occasionally bring out some fears and frustrations in gymnasts. It's very important our gymnasts realise it's very normal to feel this way from time to time and to trust the process.  Your coaches will continue to guide you through it.   We are also focused on the gymnasts getting their strength and conditioning back on track after our break over Christmas.  Without good strength & conditioning it makes nearly impossible to perform skills safely and with good technique.  Last week's PAD test was a great chance for us to reassess where our gymnasts are at and will help set the bench marks for the year ahead! With strength, conditioning and lots of skill learning, we understandable have a lot of gymnasts feeling sore and tight at the moment! It is really important to roll out and stretch when feeling this way. Our gymnasts have been working really hard in the gym and we are really exciting about what this year holds - and to seeing some of the amazing new skills in action!
